Snap-On has a new air powered drill from their Blue-Point line. The AT5000 has a 1/2″ keyed chuck, and puts out 120 in-lbs of torque. That amount of torque is able to be put out thanks to its .45 hp air motor. Snap-On claims that the new gear design increases durability, and balance. They’ve also tried to decrease vibration and noise, although like all air tools its still quite loud at 82 db. The drill runs at 490 RPM, and sucks down 3.8 CFM of air. It of course isn’t cheap, at $269, but for production use that’s quite reasonable.
