New Snap-On 1/2″ Air Drill

July 15th, 2010

Snap-On has a  new air powered drill from their Blue-Point line.  The AT5000  has a 1/2″ keyed chuck, and puts out 120 in-lbs of torque.   That amount of torque is able to be put out thanks to its .45 hp air motor.  Snap-On claims that the new gear design increases durability, and balance.  They’ve also tried to decrease vibration and noise, although like all air tools its still quite loud at 82 db.    The drill runs at 490 RPM, and sucks down 3.8 CFM of air.  It of course isn’t cheap, at $269, but for production use that’s quite reasonable.

New Snap-on Tire Inflator

June 21st, 2010

Snap-on’s got a great new tire inflator that just launched.  Made of anodized aluminum, it allows tires to be filled quickly and easily, while simultaneously measuring the pressure.  No need to swap between a gauge and an infalator.  It measures pressure between 20-160 psi, and features a dual-swivel point hose, to prevent kinks.  Lastly it also has a double-sealed scale so that no contaminants from the air-supply will cause problems.  Like anything Snap-on, its not cheap at $160, but if you spend all day filling tires a good inflator is worth the money.
